Being in Burj Dubai – the tallest tower of the world

Burj Dubai also known as Burj Khalifa is the tallest man made architecture. Earlier it was the Twin Towers in New York but now Burj Dubai rules the roost of being the tallest tower on the planet.
With building and complex area part of 490 acre area development called Downtown Dubai, Burj Dubai has a height with 829.8 meters. Burj Khalifa was designed with a view to make it the center point of having an all in one tower with office complexes and residential homes and apartments, malls and parkland areas.
The inception of the idea was to make sure that Dubai was not considered to be the oil capital of the world but also to ensure that tourism and hospitality service industry gained more popularity. As per officials, the idea behind building such architecture was to gain international recognition and therefore attract foreign investments.
To wash the 24,348 windows, totaling 120,000 m2 of glass, a horizontal track has been installed on the exterior of Burj Khalifa at levels 40, 73, and 109. Each track holds a 1,500 kg bucket machine which moves horizontally and then vertically using heavy cables.
Above level 109, up to tier 27 traditional cradles from davits are used. The top of the spire, however, is reserved for specialist window cleaners, who can brave the height of the tower and high winds dangling by ropes to inspect and clean the windows. The cleaning system was developed in Melbourne, Australia at a cost of A$8 million.
Burj Dubai is considered to be one of the most marvelous piece of architecture made by man and is the center of all business hubs making Dubai not only an entrepreneurial center but also a favorite tourist spot.
